Description

This statement necklace for women features an artisan-made Mother Goddess pendant, colorful ceramic beads, and three different types of organic wooden beads. The Mother Goddess pendant is large in size and entrancing in design, with a whimsical wildness to her hair and spirals stylistically used for her arms and legs. Made of polymer clay, the pendant's color is a two-tone lime green, with the goddess's form stamped into front and colored brown. Below her is stamped "We Rise," aside a small green heart. "We Rise" is a positive, life-affirming motto of unity and self-assertion, of social change and individual empowerment. As an inspirational sentiment, it is a fitting companion for the symbol of the Mother Goddess, herself a life-affirming symbol of nature and inner growth. (For more info about the Mother Goddess and about the spiral symbol, please see the end of this listing.)

The colorful ceramic beads are from Mykonos and were made in Greece. They are tube shaped and bring a sense of tribal fun to the necklace. As for the wooden beads, there are four kinds: bayong medium brown bead (8mm), bayong small brown bead (6mm), striped brown bead (dark and light wood; 6mm), and dark brown hand-carved bicone bead. The organic nature of these beads goes well with the ceramic tubes in terms of both color and of texture, thus enhancing the tribal boho styling.

Also included in this unique Goddess boho necklace are the following:
• Genuine copper jump rings
• JBB copper plated brass leaf hook clasp (made in Israel)
• Toho metallic copper gold large seed beads
• Toho small seed beads (Please note: these are unseen, and used inside the wooden and ceramic beads to stabilize them on the beading wire.)
• Authentic dark brown deerskin lace leather (made in USA)
• High-quality 49-strand beading wire (made in USA)
• Copper crimps and copper crimp covers (two on each side, between seed beads, to doubly secure the beading wire)
• Copper wire guards (to help protect the beading wire from abrasion)

In designing this piece, I wanted to reflect the wildness in the goddess figure, and so added two double-strand deerskin-lace tassels near the focal pendant. I also attached the pendant with knotted lace, and left two "tails" to hang under it. Greek ceramic beads were strung on all these laces, emphasizing this tribal touch.

The length of the necklace strand is approximately 21.5 inches, including the hook clasp. The pendant is about 2.25 inches long, so the complete length as worn, including pendant, would be 23.75 inches. Please see my pictures for a photo showing the ruler measurements of the pendant and the finishing components with the hook clasp. You can also get an idea of the bead sizes. A penny is included for relative size comparison.

With its lovely "We Rise" inspirational Mother Goddess artisan pendant and bohemian tribal jewelry style, this one-of-a-kind statement necklace would make the perfect gift for anyone who loves unique and meaningful jewelry. It is also a great gift for a new mother or grandmother celebrating the maternal and feminine power of woman, or someone on a neo-pagan spiritual pathway.

Designed and handmade beaded by me with care, thought, and best wishes for its destined wearer, this goddess boho necklace comes in an eco-friendly kraft-style box, all wrapped up and ready for gifting to someone uniquely special—maybe yourself!

About the Spiral Symbol
The spiral is such a distinctive shape, with a dynamic quality that expresses movement and growth. The spiral can be seen in the form of immense cosmic galaxies as well as in the tiny whorls of a human fingerprint and the microscopic structure of DNA. We see spiraling shapes in certain seashells and plants as well. Since ancient times, humans have found symbolic meaning in spirals in and across a wide variety of cultures. Possible interpretations of spirals as symbols include growth, fertility, the journey through life, time and its passage, the journey beyond life, the sun, protection against evil, and infinity.

About the Mother Goddess
Widely worshipped in ancient times, the Mother Goddess is associated with fertility, creation, maternal power, earth, and nature itself. Many ancient artifacts of her form have been discovered in Anatolia, Eastern Europe, Egypt, and the Near East. Archaeologists sometimes refer to these ancient physical renderings as "Venus" figures. Many contemporary pagans consider sacred the Mother Goddess and thus have brought renewed respect to a figure who has been highly meaningful for thousands of years.

FAQs

I like to ship quickly, usually 1 or 2 days after payment unless it's a weekend or holiday. Please ensure your shipping address is current.

U.S. ORDERS: I ship USPS First Class w/ Tracking. If you want to purchase insurance or upgrade, please contact me.

INTERNATIONAL ORDERS: Due to the new European GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations), I am shipping USPS 1st Class International to Australia only. When my GDPR policies are written, I will resume shipping to select EU countries. Customers are responsible for customs fees, tariffs, and/or any surcharges from their country's postal service.

Please note: I do not ship necklaces internationally.

If you are from outside the EU, please contact me and inquire whether I can ship to you.
I sincerely want you to be happy with your purchase.

Returns are accepted if you contact me within 7 days after delivery to you. I expect to receive the item no later than 2 weeks after delivery. If this timeframe is problematic for you, contact me before buying. Also, I do allow extensions for special holidays such as Christmas and Valentine's Day, as some people buy early, me included!

For All Items: I will refund for the purchase price minus original shipping cost.

You are responsible for return shipping with tracking (U.S.). Items should be in their original condition, with the original wrapping and packing materials. Extra items, like jewelry cards, gift bags, boxes, freebies, should be included.
Non-receipt: I will do my very best to help you if items go astray. Tracking provides information on the item's routing to its destination, and I always ship directly from the post office rather than relying on postal pick-up. Again, please be sure that your shipping address is CURRENT.

Damage: I pack orders well to minimize any problem in this area. However, if your purchase arrives damaged, contact me immediately. I will do my very best to help.
I accept PayPal and Etsy Payments. Please be aware that even if you are not a member of PayPal, you can securely use it to pay for your purchase with a major credit card.

Payment must be made within 24 hours of purchase or the order will be cancelled.

To Rhode Islanders: Sorry to say, but by law I must apply 7% sales tax to your purchase and pass it on to "the governor."
Yes, I am always happy to accept a custom order! Whether or not I require a deposit, full amount, or neither will depend on the nature of the order. I have done a number of such orders elsewhere with no deposit or purchase required, as I knew I could simply add those items to my inventory if the customer decided not to purchase. (Customers always did purchase them, though.) I always show photos of custom orders to the customer.
If you are buying a gift for someone and have used that person's address for shipping, please let me know at the time of ordering - I will be happy to include a complimentary notecard in which is written whatever message you would like to send.

Of course, I am always happy to send to that person's address. Just please make sure it is CURRENT. Thank you!
