It's so compact you can toss it into your knitting bag or slip it over your shoulder and take it anywhere.

85% of each yarn swift is made from repurposed wood. The fine wood used for these swifts were leftovers that were on their way to the landfil. We only use quality wood and we love finding wood we can re-use in our New England smoke-free work shop. There are no unsightly metal washers or screws. We use water based polyureathane.

When unassembled, it fits into a wool felt bag (included) that measures just 6 1/2" by 17" yet when assembled it's the size of a standard yarn swift. Each arm has 6 holes so that you can wind a variety of different size yarn hanks or if you are a spinner, you can make hanks. Hank circumference size: 40-76". The swifts are available in walnut, mahogany and cherry. The wooden knob is stamped with our swirl and has a steel rod attached for smooth and noise free operation.

The bags are sewn from gray wool felt in our smoke-free and pet free studio. The bags feature a hand made clay button with the signature Mountain Street Arts swirl. There's a sturdy black carrying shoulder strap attached to the back of the bag.

This compact swift is a must have for every knitter, crocheter and spinner,

Yarn and cat tote bag not included.

Our cotton twill is finished on the 2 long edges. The short edges need to be turned under slightly or if it's a fold over label, the open ends need to be sewn in a seam before sewing in.

Our organic cotton labels can be sewn in as is. They don't fray or unravel. They fuzz slightly around the edges after machine washing

Sharpie fine point markers work the best on our labels.
Yes, you can safely wash and dry them.
We do not recommend ironing your labels. We use a heat set process that locks in color and prevents fraying. If you do iron, place a piece of material between iron and label, use lowest setting and press gently. Once the label is washed, you can iron over the label using the lowest setting on your iron and very gently. We are not responsible for damage caused by ironing your labels
