Creating a Bali scrapbook? These Kuta mini road sign word tiles would make a fun embellishment for your vacation layouts.

They're made exclusively for Indounik in Bali from a material that is in abundant supply in this tropical paradise – coconut shell.

"Lucu" is how my friend, Balinese singer Ayu Laksmi described them when she first set eyes on them. Pronounced "loo-choo", it means funny in Bahasa Indonesia.

Through me, Ayu is familiar with the concept of scrapbooking but it still amused her no end that I would come up with this crazy little concept for a scrapbook embellishment.

They come in a pack of six and you can add a magnet or pinback to the ones you don't use.

Too stark to coordinate with your layout? You can tone them down a little by lightly sanding them back and adding Tim Holtz Distress Inks (Vintage Photo or Walnut Stain) or any dye ink to the surface.

Start by adding only a small amount of ink with a sponge applicator and remember to let the ink dry before adding it to your project.

Once a sleepy fishing village, Kuta is today one of Indonesia's major tourist destinations and the gateway to Bali.

With its world class surf beach, idyllic sunsets, and sensational shopping, it draws tourists from all around the world.

Got a ride out to Kuta in the back of a truck
Cost me twenty dollars and it wasn't worth a buck
Hustled to a losman down Poppies Lane
By a Javanese guy in a tropical rainstorm
Lock up your daughters, I've been to Bali too
