This unique stained glass owl is my original design. The glass is completely hand cut, copper foiled, and soldered by yours truly. This particular owl is done in shades of green- a solid, intense cool green glass for the body and head, and streaky emerald/white glass on the "eyebrows" and large section of wing. The small section of wing and the eye irises are of an exciting iridescent dark green glass. The whites of the eyes and the beak are iridescent white glass. As you can see from the photos, many of the owl's features have been attached by stacking them atop his body, giving him some dimensionality.
I have used re-claimed scrap glass from a local opalescent glass producer.

The leading has been patina'd, creating the soft black, and then oiled to protect the leading from the elements and the effects of time. The spiral "branches" have also been made by me, by twisting, forming, and leading copper wire.

From head to belly he measures 4.5 inches (11,5 cm).
From wing tip to outermost spiral is 6 inches (15,2 cm).
