Description

This pendant has a large nicely defined example of an Ammonite, an extinct group of cephalopods. It is finished with a fine strip of silver around the edges and a polished silver bail.

The Chain is sterling silver with large oval links and the parrot and ring clasp is also sterling silver.

This is a pendant with a pre-historic beginning. Originating in the pre-Jurassic period
this cephalopod lived from 240 million years ago till a more recent 65 million years, when it became extinct at the end of the Cretaceous period. This fascinating creature is similar to the present day Nautilus shellfish.

This Ammonite shows the shell halved to reveal the hollowed outer chambers and the inner section where the mollusc lived.
The front of this Ammonite is polished. The reverse still has portions of the rock it rested in. It is light to mid brown on the front and has distinct brown and darker brown markings on the semi polished reverse.

The 24 inch chain can be worn with either the Ammonite drop or as a statement piece on its own. The chain can be shortened if prefered.

The length of the Ammonite drop and bail is 2 inches (5 centimetres)
The width of the drop at the widest point is 1 1/8th inches (2.8 centimetres)
The length of the chain and clasp is 24 inches (61 centimetres)

The pendant comes gift boxed and with a small card for a gifting message.

All pieces are shipped in 1- 2 business days.
