Description

A little bit like a sweater and a little bit like a delectably frosted cupcake... a dash of elegance and fun..

This listing is for the PATTERN ONLY. This is a lovely introduction to knitting a raglan cardigan, if you don't know how to do it. Complete instructions, liberally illustrated with photos, are provided.

The PDF file can now be downloaded directly via etsy!

Sizing: this pattern provides directions for a "one size fits most" version of this shrug. Tips and general directions for how to make it bigger are included, but not specific measurements. The measurements of the finished garment as shown are: bottom edge- 36 inches, armhole circumference, 16 inches, neckline to hem length, about 8 inches

Time investment: A speed demon (ie-me) can make this project in a day, and a sane person can make it in a weekend.

Any questions or comments, please convo me!

when working this pattern, you will:

knit a top-down, one peice shrug (using raglan increases and an optional short row)
pick up and knit the sleeve edging
knit, felt, assemble and attach the felted flower and leaf details

skills: cast on, bind off, knit, purl, pick up and knit, knitting in the round, yarn over, knit through the back loop, knit 2 together

(pattern include some instruction on short rows and wrapping)

Materials and tools:

needles: size 13 straight needles, a set of size 13 double pointed needles, size 10.5 straight needles, place markers, a needle to weave in ends

yarn: about 108 yards of Lion Brand Thick and Quick in Fisherman ( or Blue Sky Alpacas Bulky Naturals in Polar Bear- a more lux choice )

about 100 yard of Patons Classic Merino in Aran ( or Cascade 220 in Natural, or any feltable worsted weight yarn)

flower and leaf variations pictured are created by merely substituting any feltable yarn. the bright colored flowers used reynolds lopi, which is a bulky yarn.

This is a darling pattern. I haven't knitted the mittens yet, but I used the fox charts to knit a Christmas stocking.
