I wonder if they had tailgate parties 100 years ago? If so, this was the cooler they used!! Actually, I am not even positive what this was intended for, but I believe it has to be some type of ice box, or perhaps a box that something was shipped in, with ice included to keep the item cold.

This solid wood box is very heavy (almost 20 pounds) and sturdy. There is a metal liner that fits inside and a lid that attaches to the top with screws. There is a concave area on both ends carved into the wood for easy carrying.

Measurements are 18 1/4 inches by 9 1/4 inches and stands 14 inches tall without the lid, but 15 inches tall with the lid in place.

As you can see in the photos, the box is rustic and primitive. Very cool!! I did not do anything to this box except wipe the dust off of it, but if you wanted a smoother and cleaner looking box, it could easily be cleaned up with a little sanding.

Since this item will be over 20 lbs when boxed, shipping is a bit high. If the shipping is less than what I estimated to your destination, I will refund any overpayment. Also, if you prefer the box without the liner and lid, it may save a little on the shipping cost. The choice is yours.

Here's your chance to own what could very possibly be the oldest cooler in the world! :) Wouldn't your buddies be impressed if you bring this filled with ice and beer to your next outing!! Actually, it's a wonderful and unique display box with lots of possibilities!!
