Inspired by Anne McCaffrey's Pern series...When I was a child I yearned for a Fire Lizard of my very own. Eventually,(many years later) I had the skill, the time, and the materials all at once, and my first dragon was born. (I still have her.)Now you can have one too!

SIZE: As posed, she stands about 9" to top of head, and has a 16" wingspan. This is with neck bent and wings curved and angled.

***NOTE*** This dragon is a rich, metallic GREEN. Pics #1 and #4 show the color the best. ****

These leather dragons are constructed over a wire skeleton enabling them to be posed in a variety of ways. They look great perched on a finger or riding on a shoulder, and feel almost like carrying a live bird. Make no mistake, even though these are wonderful toys for fantasy lovers, each dragon is a unique sculpture worthy of display.

For anyone who has longed for a tiny dragon of your own, these are a dream come true. And with the sturdy construction, your pet dragon will easily travel to your favorite con or event.

Since the creation process involves a sturdy wire armature covered with leather, you can gently bend the legs, wrap the toes around a perch, reposition the head and wings.... The long flexible leather tail provides balance and grip.

To make each dragon, I start with a wire skeleton and build it up with several layers of material. It's a time consuming, multi-step process. I don't use patterns or templates.

Then I start cutting leather. I cut hundreds of pieces of leather... cutting out each scale individually, and gluing every piece in place to achieve the right effect.

I paint the leather in several stages and layers with a high quality, non toxic acryllic paint.

This dragon is art that you can play with. Not for young children, but fine for a careful, older child. If you drop it, you won't hurt it.
