A J-hook on one end and an extension chain with a ball with polished finish on the other end. Marked “Coro” in script and “Des. Pat. Pend.” (design patent pending) cast on back side of the end element next to the hook, dating this necklace to the period 1948-1955, most probably from the beginning of the 1950s. The Coro patent applications were signed by Adolf Katz, as a representative of this American company, but the pieces of jewelry were designed by a dozen designers, of whom Gene Verri was head designer from 1933-1963. Necklace in average condition; wear to the plating near the articulations and the links and on back side of end element next to the hook; this element and the adjacent link have been repaired with a brownish resin, only visible on the back side; wear to the enamel on several links.
