Many hours of time went into this going over a three-week period, about 80 of them!

This gorgeous silk dupioni regency gown is a reproduction of a a popular green gown in the Greene Collection at the Genesee Country Village & Museum. Since photos emerged of this gown, the regency community has fawned over it, myself included.

I use 100% silk dupioni on this gown, though the original was a plain green silk. Either silk can be used, as well as any color. I happened to have a bunch of yards of this icy slate blue silk dupioni laying around!

Every stitch of this gown was by hand from the two tucks on the bodice, the two on the sleeves, the four on the skirt, to the buttonholes in the back. Dozens of Van Dyke points around the neckline were individually cut, folded, and sewn to the entire neckline. There were 11 across the front of the original, and 11 on this one.

The sleeves are very long, to the knuckles, as was fashionable during the late regency. From the elbow down, the sleeves are straight. Short, slightly puffed sleeves reside under the pointed cap sleeves. Each of the three points has a white silk bow. White silk is not the bright white you'll find with synthetics. The process to bleach it that super bright white dissolves silk. It's more like a very very soft off-white.

As was common, this gown is unlined except for the waistband. I lined that just for support.

I did make the puff sleeves and sleeve caps a little longer than on the original for my own personal taste, but these can very easily be shortened to the original's length.

I can also make the longer under sleeves detachable if you're like this for a ball gown.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This listing is for the FIRST INSTALLMENT only! For this gown, I will require a non-refundable deposit of $400 to secure the order, which is this listing, with two balance payment of $400 each with the shipping due with the last payment. If you need to make more than three payments for the balance or would like to make fewer, just let me know. THE GOWN WILL NOT SHIP UNTIL ALL PAYMENTS HAVE BEEN MADE AND CLEARED!! I must be strict on this rule as I have been ripped off by not waiting for a check to clear. I was trying to be nice, and paid dearly for it.

This gown is hand-sewn. If you'd like machine-sewn, let me know.

This listing is for the gown only. If you'd like another color, convo me!
