What it is:
Valkyrie Storm is an original game fusing together two of the most popular game elements on the market today. It is a multi player game based on the original Viking board game called Hnefatafl, and can be played with 2 to 6 players. Valkyrie Storm divides the two sides of the original Hnefatafl game into clans that can play independently or cooperatively for their common goals.

It is also a card deck building game that uses three decks of cards to weave the history, mythology, lore, and legend of the Vikings into the game. The Journey deck has the giants, trolls, and land spirits the Vikings believed they encountered on a daily basis. These being may harm, or help you in the course of the game. The Rune deck has the complete 24 Runes of the Elder Futhark that influenced the fate of the Vikings. And the Bindrune deck has the tools of the trade the Vikings used in battle, both magical and common. These cards are used to enhance the attack, defense, and magic strengths of one of twelve historic Viking characters you choose to play as.

A quick synopsis of a player turn might look something like this: Rolling two 6 sided die you determine your fate of being in the favor of the gods, and also whether or not you draw a journey card, and encounter a legendary being. Fate may have it to where you do both, or neither. Being in the gods favor allows you to continue your turn at top performance. And a Journey card draw will mean you must have a favorable outcome to continue to the movement and battle phase. Unfavorable outcomes will end your turn, favorable outcomes may enhance the rest of your turn. Having a favorable outcome, you place a Rune card, and a magical dwarven sword on your character to enhance your powers as you move one of your clan pieces into battle on the Hnefatafl board. A quick roll of a die added to your attack score has you win over your opponents defenses, and their piece is removed from the board. Drawing a Bindrune card to retain in your hand, you end your turn.

What this game has to offer:
* A handsome Hefatafl board with playing pieces used for both Valkyrie Storm or original Hnefatafl
* Complete rules for Valkyrie Storm and Hnefatafl
* 100 cards in three decks. Journey, Bindrune, and Rune decks (the Rune deck may also be used for Rune readings).
* A quick start guide for reading Runes
* A brief history of the Journey card characters and Bindrune objects
* 12 Viking character cards
* Various dice, counters, tokens, and score sheets used in the game.
