Are you looking for a reason to use many of your beautiful DMC colors?

This pattern was inspired by seeing a writer share her color thesaurus idea as a way to “dress up” her writing by remembering that there are so many descriptive words for colors. As stitchers, we certainly know there are! We just need patterns where we can show them off.

Each color group (red, pink, purple, blue, green, yellow, orange, brown, and grey) has nine words and nine DMC colors for it. In addition to the typical charting symbols, you also have a simplified chart inside to refer to for the DMC numbers, since once you have stitched the words and the borders, the colors are just filling in the spaces.

There are 81 colors in this piece, with each color needing around 300 stitches.
There are 3792 stitches for the words, which are charted in black (DMC 310).
There are 4132 stitches for the border, which are charted in DMC 3371.

Stitch count: 109 x 298. Pattern is black and white and uses full cross stitches only.
