Description

PIKED is a series of independent comics created by artist Damian Pounds. The content of each magazine tends to be a collection of short intertwining stories, with frequently recurring characters.

The stories take place in a dystopian fantasy world. The exact whereabouts and timezone of which is left widely open to the reader. Although the artwork and dialogue occasionally suggest answers such as, a post nuclear disaster, a futuristic or alternate version of Earth, the result of humans colonizing an unknown planet.

The main protagonist is Rhona Pike, a trouble-shooter and professional mercenary. Most of the stories take place in the fictional city of Nidia, although many stories are set in a variety of locations.

The subject matter of these stories are typically adult themed and often contain strong language, situations of a perverse nature, suggestions of drug use, mental illness, supernatural elements, moments of extreme violence, and bizarre behavior. The majority of the main story lines focus on the exploits and adventures throughout the life of Rhona Pike, as well as other mercenaries, criminals, and a variety of lowbrow characters. Many of the stories tend to have a sense of mystery, folk law, mythology, or moral conundrums. These stories can vary in length, sometimes stretching over multiple issues.

The artwork is largely a semi-realistic/surrealist style, relying heavily on a hand drawn approach rather than digital manipulation.

Piked Issue One contains two complete stories. (The Maiale Brothers) & (Shades of Donkey Lane)

This artwork was received in pristine condition. The photo doesn't do the artwork justice! It is brilliant. I had it beautifully matted and framed! Thank you
