This pattern was inspired by a quilt seen at a museum exhibit that was made up of tiny scraps of fabric. I challenged myself to see if I could create an interpretation of it using needle and thread and limited myself to the grid of typical cross stitch pattern. To make this happen, the quilt is stitched on point - that is to say, in a diamond shape. The final stitching simply needs to be turning 45 degrees to become square in its final form.

This pattern uses full and half cross stitches as well as some specialty stitches,
which are diagramed and explained. Seven colors of DMC floss are used.

Stitch count is 160 x 160 when stitched on the diagonal.
