The Shropshire breed originated in the counties of Shropshire and Staffordshire in central western England.

It was was developed by breeding the native black-faced sheep that were known as Longmynd with Southdowns to breed out the coarseness and horns. It was later crossed with Leicesters and Cotswolds to improved the length of the wool and give size to the sheep.

These ewes are approx. 5" tall and have porcelain a head and legs.The body is a cast stone which at 1lb is very stable. The fur is a woven wool from the same german source that Steiff teddy bears uses. The price is per animal, so please specify left, center or right as they are seen in the photo..
