Description

Occupied Japan Dog
Photos are part of the description.

As the Japanese economy recovered from the ravages of WWII many items were shipped to the United States bearing the mark “Occupied Japan.” These items were made during the American occupation of Japan from 1947-1952.

This cute little dog figurine was part of an extensive collection that belonged to a friend's mother. Her mother had collected these dogs throughout her life. This little guy reminds us of Nipper the RCA dog who looks inquisitively into the gramaphone. He is white porcelain with brown and black spots.

This little dog is in great vintage condition. He is clearly marked "Occupied Japan" on his base.
Measures 3 5/8 inches tall the base is 1 3/4 inches by 2 3/4 inches.
