Description

It's not a bug, it's a ring! Lovingly made by Parsugian family jewelers in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Ring is made of brass
and semi precious stone. Free size.

Free shipping on all items.

In my spare time, I established a charity helping rural school children in Ethiopia. I fell in love with Ethiopia more than 30 years ago and wanted to help. I find the country wondrous in its beauty, its history and its people.

Since 12 years, my little grass roots association, the Ethiopian Children's Appeal, has helped more than 900 children each year. We deliver school supplies, build new classrooms, set up libraries, distributes solar lights, and we recently set up an organic farm at one of the schools. We plan to help older children wiht vocational training in 2013. We also help HIV/AIDS orphans and I am the surrogate grandmother to 16 AIDS orphans.

I love working with Ethiopian silver, beautiful Ethiopian crosses and other African ornaments as well as beads from Kenya, Ghana, and Senegal. I combine this with semi precious stones from around the world and with swarovski crystals.

All proceeds from the sale of this necklace go to help rural Ethiopian schoolchildren.

I got this necklace for my wife for her birthday, and she loves it. Jo the artist that built it is truly gifted, and I really admire her for playing such a positive role in the lives of so many children. She even wrote a handwritten note explaining the build process, and how she had to use different stones in the necklace. So she gave my wife a pair of matching earing's for having to do so. My wife was so very pleased with the gift. Jo's customer service is unmatched, and she truly understands the meaning it. I recommend her work to anyone who is looking for something original, and one of a kind.
