Description

This chess board is 17” square. Each square is just over 2” and is made using 8 triangles. One type of wood is in each square. One kind of wood is on the chess board. The dark square has “Ash sapwood” and “Ash Heartwood” from Missouri; the light square has “Ash heartwood” and “Ash sapwood” from Missouri. There are 612 pieces in the over lay.

I was playing around when I made this board. I wanted to see what it would look like to reverse the kinds of wood in each square and also if I could make it all out of the same wood. It can mix up your opponent. It can mix you up.

This is my version of “modern art”; it makes a nice wall hanging.

This chess board is #81 (the number on the back), I made it in 1987 on July 23rd. Also on the back, I signed it, listed the wood, and dated it. Yes, I have had it for awhile.

This gives a completely different look to a chess board. When not being used as a chess board, it is made to hang on the wall from one corner. They make a very beautiful wall hanging.

Go to my ”Shop Polices” and “Profile” page to see my return policy and other information. To see other chess boards I’ve made, click on “Game Boards” or whatever gets your interest under “Sections in this shop”. The “Home” page itself can be rather confusing with everything mixed up. The “Sections in this shop” lets me show you all like items together as a unit.

Payment can be made using Pay Pal for immediate shipment, money order or check. Checks will have to clear before shipment is made.

Why are some of these things so old?

I did shows for 16 years, then had to stay closer to home as both my and my wife’s folks were living with us and needed more care. I made a lot of my things at shows and would finish them up at home. This way I built up quite an inventory of goods I would pack away in boxes. These are not like cars that wear out with age. They just set in a box and stay new. If when you get it, it is not what you want I have a very good return policy above.
