Description

The Helix nebula, also known as NGC 7293 or the Eye of God, is a large planetary nebula, a shell of glowing ionized gas ejected from dying stars.

This cross stitch pattern is adapted from a combined image from NASA's Spitzer Space Telescope and the Galaxy Evolution Explorer (GALEX). The image shows the infrared and ultraviolet radiation emanating from the nebula. Infrared data from Spitzer for the central nebula is rendered in green (wavelengths of 3.6 to 4.5 mi- crons) and red (8 to 24 microns). Ultraviolet data from GALEX appears as blue (0.15 to 2.3 microns).

The design area is 270 stitches wide and 234 stitches tall. Finished dimensions are: on 18 count cloth, 13 x 15 inches 33 x 38 cm; on 14 count, 16.7 x 19.3 inches, 42.5 x 49 cm. The pattern uses full cross stitches and 60 DMC colors.

Your instant digital download includes two PDF files of the pattern, one in color and the other in black and white symbols. The pattern also includes a printable thread sorter and color key with estimated thread usage.

Please note this listing is only for the digital pattern; this is not a kit, a printed pattern, or the finished work!
