George Adam Smith was a prominent Old Testament scholar and theologian, whose work on the historical geography of the Holy land has been noted by historical geographers for years.

This copy includes a fold-out map in the back pocket and a five additional maps in the body of the book. The contents and style connects broad theology and scientific geography of the late-nineteenth and early-twentieth centuries. Printed in London by Hodder and Stoughton, this copy is a twenty second printing of Smith's famous work.
