Item details

Vintage from the 1980s

Whether you are just getting into using synthesizers for your music, or having been making music on vintage synths for decades, this is a great book for anyone.

Synthesizer Programming - The Fine Art of Creating Your Own Sound—A Comprehensive and Practical Introduction was published in 1987 by Keyboard Magazine and Hal Leonard Publishing. This book has been out of print for some time and seems harder and harder to find these days.

The book provides an excellent introduction to basic synthesis coving everything from Attenuators to Waveforms and everything in between. It discusses programming, creating patches, and troubleshooting. It also discusses programming specific classic vintage synthesizers such as the Yamaha DX7, the Oberheim Xpander, the Casio CZ-101, and the Roland JX8P + JX10.

I had purchased this book in the early 1990's specifically to learn how to create better patches on my Casio CZ-101 synth. (I still have that synth if you want to buy it!) I haven't really been making music much lately so I am selling much of my collection. I'd love to see this book go to a good home!

The book is in very good condition with minimal wear.

I expected wear and tear but I did not expect to see that it was completely broken. The globe is not attached to the stand at all. There is a giant hole on one side. This should have been thrown out not promoted and sold. Very disappointed, wasted money.

I tried to contact this buyer to discuss any damage that may have occurred during shipping, because I did not send the globe in the condition she claims. My request for photos of the damage so I could give her a refund have went unanswered. This globe was purchased in early January, I was never contacted with any problems after she received it, and then nearly three month later I see this review. My product photos and product description clearly described any damage the globe did have before I shipped it, and it did not have a giant hole, it wasn't detached from the stand, nor was it completely broken. If an item is damaged in shipping I am MORE than happy to refund a buyers money as long as they send me photos proving the damage to the product and any damage to the box.
