Description

Gray Porcelain Brush Washer With Palette Lid - Water Well - Watercolor Pot - Ceramic Painting

These brush washers are handmade on a potters wheel using my own mixture of gray porcelain. They are left unglazed on the exterior, and glazed on the interior with an opalescent clear glaze. They are non porous, and will not absorb water or stain. They will work for any medium, but due to the fact that they do not have a seal on the lid, solvents should not be left in them for extended periods when not in use.
These brush washing pots have notches on the rim for brush rests, and an internal drip edge to prevent liquid from running down the outside as well reduce splashing or spilling when moving the pot around. I also add a series of ridges on the bottom to agitate bristles and dislodge paint or ink.
I form the handle with copper which I blacken and wax.
The pots come with an inexpensive black brush, which can be held in place with the black rubber band.

I currently offer two sizes of these pots: small - 1/2 cup capacity (this is the size pictured) and medium - 1 cup capacity (there is an areal picture of this one next to a small version. I am currently working on adding a large 1.5 cup capacity design and will update thus listing when it is available.
