Musical Abstraction... painting the way it feels to 'play' the instruments. As an artist and musician, I attempt to capture the essence and energy of the instrument I'm trying to depict, and transfer that feeling of musicality to the canvas. I have been creating musical abstraction since 2003.

"King of the Blues" is an original 20x24 on canvas framed in Nielsen 71 Matte White, an extremely durable and vibrant frame. The artwork is a mixture of blue, green, yellow and magenta with a very neutral feeling. I've overlaid the guitar framework in a visually aesthetic sensibility, incorporating original guitar parts and pieces which are attached to the finished product.

The guitar is strung with DR Neon Black Beauty strings, that "pop" in appearance, sparkle brightly, and are black light active... plus glow amazing under UV lightning. The center pickup and bridge are positionable and movable yet should remain in their original positions to guarantee string stretch and angle. A brightly colored guitar pick rests at one side.

This artwork is NOT functionally playable and should never be strummed or played in a conventional sense. It is strong enough to withstand occasional finger picking by careless viewers but the owner needs to make sure small children and certain adults understand that artwork is NOT to be played with and should be appreciated visually.

Created within the past year, this "fine art" original artwork represents a mix of blues and jazz into a contemporary acrylic painting with overtones of abstract expressionism. For added protection, the artwork has three coats of varnish to seal the surface but this original acrylic painting should NOT be hung in direct sunlight as fading will occur over time. Minimal sunlight exposure is totally acceptable.

All materials used in the framing process, including the acid free foam core backing are archival products commonly used in conservation framing. All hanging materials necessary to mount on most wall surfaces are included.

This item will ship to you via FedEx at no charge. A custom crate/shipping container will be built for this item when purchased. All shipping/handling in the continental US is free and included.
