Description

This knitting book is designed with a threefold purpose. It is planned for those who do not know how to knit and want to learn how; for knitters who want good basic styles from which to choose; and for those who love to knit and want to learn more about their hobby.
For beginners, there is a detailed, illustrated lesson on how to cast on, knit, purl and bind off. All the terms and abbreviations used in knitting are explained in the lesson. Some especially easy projects for new knitters have been included in this book, such as slippers and scarves, golf club mitts and smocked pillows, all made in knit and purl stitches.
The basic designs include pullovers for everyone in the family, made in various ways: with raglan or set-in sleeves; with turtlenecks or stand-up collars, with plain ribbed necklines or doubled neckbands; on straight needles, circular needles or the new giant needles.
Cardigans for men, women, and children include the comfortable saddle shoulder style for women, a shawl-collar coat sweater for men, a circular-yoke cardigan with two-color pattern for little girls, a classic surplice sweater for babies.
Knitters who are interested in new techniques may wish to try the "continental" style of knitting, or the big-needle pullover, or the tubular rug worked in a double knitting pattern. Learn how to work in loop stitch, and how to knit with sequins while working a pattern. For those who like to design their own knits, or substitute one pattern stitch for another, or simply add to their store of knitting knowledge, there are twelve unusual and exciting pattern.

Shipping policies

Please note that I have my shipping costs set to account for combined shipping - shipping for the second+ books are significantly cheaper than for the first book. For many of my books, the cost to ship that book as a second book is zero cents!

For U.S. shipments, I ship first class if the weight of the order is low enough - most paperback books will ship first class. All other orders are shipped media mail.

For shipments to Canada, I ship first class where possible, and I will ship priority mail after that. The calculated shipping cost should reflect this.

I ship all items via USPS. I ship all orders on Monday, or the first business day after Monday if that is a holiday.

Additional policies

For Texas buyers, sales tax is included in the price.
