Come Sunday night, you’ll have a cohesive brand to launch your idea into the world.


How we’ll get there:
You’ll learn how to choose and use fonts—which means you’re not spending half a day on DaFont.com wondering which fonts go together, unable to make a choice, and ending up with Comic Sans headers and Trebuchet body. If you have no idea what I’m talking about, you will soon, and you’ll know that that combination is disastrous for your brand.

You’ll select a gorgeous color palette—Picasso was a chromatic genius, but 50 shades of color do not belong in your brand. Simple is better. You will learn how to choose and stick to your palette.

You’ll design your LOGO—a font-based logo breathes elegance and style—think Apply, Citi, Chanel. Simplicity is your friend and, after this course, you’ll be besties .

You’ll create a branded lead magnet—your lead magnet is the first point of interest, and you’ll not only create one that flawlessly follows your brand, but I’ll also give you tips and tricks on lead magnets that are working well in today’s market.

You’ll build a beautiful landing page to offer your lead magnet + collect emails—gauging interest before you create your course, product, or service puts you miles ahead of the competition. Your landing page is your barometer.

You’ll design branded social media graphics to entice people to your landing page—the internet isn’t Field of Dreams, if you build it you need to lay a trail of breadcrumbs and an entourage of neon signs so that they come. Social media is your billboard.

You’ll learn two (free) design programs that will change your attitude towards design forever—if you’ve had it with Wordpress, have experienced the nightmare of Photoshop, and the clunkiness of Canva, you’re going to love this, because you won’t use any of them.

I’m going to teach you the programs I use (also used by very smart UX and app designers).

Your Instructor
HI I’M GRETCHEN, A SELF-TAUGHT DESIGNER WITH A BACKGROUND IN TECH WHO FIGURED OUT SIMPLER, FASTER WAYS TO DESIGN BEAUTIFUL BRANDS.

I aim for clean, essentialist design and have learned that it’s easy to achieve through systems I've built which takes away a lot of time-intensive decision making.

In three years I’ve built a profitable business where I can charge a premium for my services. I’ve created frameworks (which I teach you) that get me 80% of the results with 20% of the time and effort.

This is the course I wish I’d had when I was just starting out. It would have saved hundreds of hours of research and helped me build a profitable brand faster—now it can do that for you.



The Weekender Details
The Getaway is divided into two modules. Each module contains 1-3 videos—38 minutes or less!

Each lesson should take you from 30 minutes to 1 hour to learn and implement.



DAY ONE / PREFLIGHT: THE BRAND BLITZ



Lesson One: Design Your Moodboard


You’ll use Pinterest to create a moodboard which will be the inspiration for your brand personality, identity and style.



Lesson Two: Choosing Fonts & Colours


Your fonts and colors form the foundation of your brand. I’ll walk you through how to choose fonts that go together, a color palette that pops, and how to put them together into a style guide. This step will make the rest of your design process so much easier



Lesson Three: Design Your Logo


Using key design principles, I’ll teach you how to create three logo types (in order of difficulty). You’ll end up with a simple font-based logo that looks ace.



DAY TWO / WHEELS UP: THE DELIVERY



Lesson One: Design Your Lead Magnet


Create a lead magnet that is consistent with your brand.



Lesson Two: Design Your Landing Page


Your landing page is key to gauging interest in your idea. This has to look good, and, after this lesson, it will.



Lesson Three: Designing Social Media Graphics


Running a tight social media campaign will generate interest in your idea and put eyes on your landing page—flower to the bees.
