Description

Such a sweet little primitive style yellow warbler, which I hand formed in polymer clay, then painted. There is some textured knocked into the clay before curing, in order to create a subtlle irregular surface perfect for rubbing accent colours over under layers of colour. She is the cutest little thing, her tiny dark eyes, golden hues, dark accents and warm orangey hints. These little song birds migrate here to Ontario every Sprig and leave every Fall. My husband and I see many of them on our nature walks. I painted the little bird in an ochre yellow, rubbed metallic gilders paste over her in silver, gold and copper tones, with some hints of green. I then accented her wings and tail with the darks that they have there generally. Her chest glows yellow pearly gold with hints of the darkish striations that they often have. Yellow warblers vary so much, especially as they mature, male and female, and with the season.
The painted clay warbler I then sealed in a professional grade clear coat with a satin finish, which is made for polymer clay and more.

You receive the Exact Yellow Warbler figurine pictured here. I sculpt each bird I make by hand, then list that finished piece. I can make to order, but the next one will never be exactly the same as the original, this being my first.

SIZE: The bird is about 2 1/4" long beak tip to tail tip, and sits 1 1/4" high base to top of his head, and is 1 1/4" wide at his widest point, so is a small sculpture, fits easily in the palm of an average adult hand, and weighs ounces, so is not heavy at all.

CARE: This little clay bird figurine just needs to be gently wiped with a barely damp corner of a soft cloth, once in a while, or only as needed, no cleaners or detergents recommended. Like any clay piece, he can be vulnerable to breakage if dropped or knocked onto a harder surface. I recommend displaying him on a shelf that is not easily brushed by and up a bit higher than kids and pets can reach. When unwrapping him from his package, please do not suspend the package in mid air, but open it on a soft surface such as a bed or couch, just in case you drop him taking him out of his wrapping. To hold, cup him in the palm of your hand.

I trust I do not need to say this but I will; Not for Children. This is a decorative figurine for display only.

FAQs

I am able to accept personalized or custom orders, but am unable to offer refunds on either. Cancellations are accepted only if requested within a 12 hour period after ordering.
My sizes are described as accurate as possible. Questions are always welcome. Lengths of necklaces can be altered upon request, upon purchasing, in most cases.
Polymer clay is not harmed by water, but some of the finishes and clear coats, as well as the metal pieces, can be, over time. It is recommended that cleaning solutions are not used, clay pieces are not worn into hot tubs, pools, and not repeatedly in the shower.
I am happy to gift wrap, or add personal notes, if requested, within reason. Sorry, I will not send anything anonymously from a buyer to their recipient, upon receiving such requests, under any circumstances.
Wholesale is not really a possibility for my pieces, as most are one of a kind, and some of my supplies are antique, upcycled, and limited.
My jewellery and accessories are not recommended for young children.
I ship your purchase tracked and insured. I only charge what it costs me to ship from Canada to your location so that your package is shipped safely to you. It is $16.00+ Canadian minimum, to ship tracked small packages to US addresses. So, as you can work out yourself, my shipping is generally undercharged.
I do not charge extra for handling or packing materials, and I make no profit at all on the shipping I charge.
