Description

This charm came off a mid-20th Century gold, gold filled and gold plated charm bracelet. All the charms were wonderful, each in their own way. I just sold an egg timer charm from the same bracelet and I believe this charm was made by the same manufacturer. Both charms had the same great attention to detail and both were gold filled. They are quality charms.

This one is a Pygmy Ben alarm clock. The Ben alarm clock was a household staple from the early 1920s well into the 1960s. There was never a Pygmy Ben, I don't think, but this is a tiny little alarm clock so the name is appropriate. It is just as cute as it can be. The clock face is under a piece of plastic.

My pictures of the back make it look like the gold is worn off, but that is not the case; it is just the way the light hits it. When I first got this, I thought it was solid 14 kt gold, because that is how it looks, but it tested as at least less than 10 Kt. I believe it is gold filled, but it is not signed anywhere.

This little guy measures 7/8" tall, excluding the top ring, 11/16" at it's widest point and it is 5/16" deep - about the size of a dime. It doesn't have a jump ring, but I will provide a gold one so it will be ready to add to your charm bracelet or charm necklace.

It is in very good, original vintage condition. It has fine overall scratches, typical of having been worn by the original owner. That patina took a long time to form and gives a warmth to the charm. I have included several pictures which are a big part of my description. Please be sure to view them all so you have a good idea what you are considering. It's just a darling charm and I see nothing negative to mention.

This would be a stand-out on any charm bracelet or necklace. They don't make charms like this anymore - too bad. Don't miss the chance to add it to your collection. I have never seen another.

Combined shipping is available. If you place more than one order before I ship the first, I will combine and refund the shipping fee on the second. I can ship 1-12 tiny items like this for the same fee as for 1.
