Description

Handmade Yarn bowl. This stoneware yarn bowl is perfect to keep your yarn in place while you knit, crochet, or sew... (your handmade items will feel better when you make them with tools that were handmade too! )
Hand made ceramic bowl made in 2018 in Roswell, GA. Made in America.

Bottom is hand stamped with "Just one more row...One more." The words are stamped into the red clay and then glazed a light white - so they blend in well on the base.

Holes in the lower side will rest your knitting needles.
Bowl is purple glaze over the brown clay (touch of blue in places -the glaze is beautiful). There is a cut out curl for pulling your yarn. I added a handle that is great for holding scissors or a crochet hook. Bottom is stamped with my "Very Valerie" into the clay. Three holes on right side of cut out to allow for blended yarns.

I did a variety of yarn balls in the photos so you can get a good feel for the size and options in this yarn holder.

--------------------more details on Knitting bowls --------------------
Bowl is a little over 7" wide at the top. Height is ~3.25"
Good weight to help keep bowl sturdy when pulling yarn.

The clay is fired twice to a high temperature (1200c/2192f) which enhances its strength.

PRACTICAL - This ceramic yarn bowl will help keep your yarn clean and in place. It will help you have great yarn tension as you crochet or knit your projects. The deep cut spiral helps to keep yarn in place as you work. And the two holes will hold a pair of knitting needles (or a crochet hook) while they rest from all the work you do.

TIPs in finding the right yarn bowl: Keep in mind that the addition of the cut out curl will allow you to remove your yarn bowl as needed, but if you order a yarn bowl that only has the hole - you won't be able to easily remove your yarn ball and carry your work somewhere else.
Shallow yarn bowls (like many wooden yarn bowls) will not keep your yarn from flying out when pulled hard. I build my bowls a little higher to help keep your yarn in the bowl.
The weight of this yarn bowl will also help in keeping your yarn in place. Much heavier than most wooden bowls - I try to leave a lot of clay in the base to give enough weight to help make a fantastic and helpful tool for holding yarn.

FAQs

Please read the descriptions of each listing & be sure to send me any questions prior to ordering. All sizes listed are approximate due to the handmade nature of the work. I include photos with a ruler. Feel free to message me anytime with questions on sizes.
Pottery does occasionally break when being shipped, but thankfully it is quite rare. All of my pottery is packed well in paper and a strong box, so the shipper needs to make it right if they damage your item. File a claim with USPS quickly with photos of the damage and the packaging. Notification needs to be made within a day or two.
If you receive a shipping notification, but your order does not arrive in the mail, please contact the post office. We make sure to have tracking sent to you on all orders. They will be able to assist you in the process of filing a claim. Please note that we are not responsible for items that are lost or delayed in the mail. Please contact USPS with your tracking number and let them take responsibility and make you whole from their error.
Orders that are shipped via USPS Priority shipping, which will arrive in 2-3 business days. This method includes up to $100 insurance and a tracking number.
I have begun offering Parcel Select Ground as an option, but please note that if you choose this option it will not include insurance. I can not be held responsible for damage from the post office since I package items well – please see USPS about any damage they cause. We do upgrade to Priority occasionally.
All the pottery listed for the use of food/drink is food, dishwasher, oven (to 400°) and microwave safe. Hand-washing is recommended as is to gradually heat and cool the pottery with oven use. Any exceptions to this will be clearly labeled in the listing.

Items (such as soap dishes) that do not have food on them may have non-food safe glazes.
