Description

M. Gilroy was an Army Engineer who was at Pearl Harbor on the day of the bombing. "By the Numbers" is a collection of Gilroy's verses --reflections on life and war. Private William B. Payne illustrated the text with pen and ink drawings.

There is humor, sadness, anger, fun and longing in this book.

CONDITION: Edge wear to paper covers. There is a 1/2" tear at head of cover's spine, but binding is secure. Pages are age-toned. There is a closed tear on one of the pages. Previous owner wrote in pencil on the endpaper....
