These charming birdhouse earrings are hand carved from caribou antler. (The last two pictures show Ron in the process of making them.) Style A. measures 5/8" (16mm) tall, 1/2" (12mm) wide and 7/16" (11mm) deep. Style B. measures 7/8" (28mm), 3/4" (19mm) wide and 1/2" (13mm) deep. The earwires are sterling silver. They would make an ideal gift for your favorite birdwatcher.

Male caribou shed their antlers every year and grow a new set the following one. Bulls use their antlers during rutting season to fight other males for mates. Each set of antlers is unique to the individual animal. Antler material is similar to bone. It should be kept dry.
