Description

This listing is for a unique egg-shaped Sterling sil925) bangle.

Being a keen hen-keeper and also knowing many other keen hen-keepers, I decided it was time to create a jewellery item that was unique, a talking point and definitely going to be loved by anyone with a passion for chickens.

What I hadn't anticipated were the advantages of making a bangle this shape. Relative to my wrists, I have quite small hands, and one of the problems I have with bangles is that they tend to slip down over my hand very easily. Also, I often have to work at the computer and a round bangle somehow hurts my wrist with prolonged wear. I've discovered that the egg-shape is wholly more comfortable to wear. Firstly, it can be smaller than the diameter required for a round bangle.

The reason is quite obvious when you look at a hand. My hand is thicker on the thumb side than it is on the pinky side; ie. I need more width to get my hand in on the thumb side than I do on the other. And isn't that just egg-shaped? So a smaller bangle doesn't rattle around as much and doesn't slip down over my hand either because invariably, it twists itself around so that the pointed top is uppermost and the heavier, rounder base goes to the bottom.

In this version I've lightly hammered the surface (like scrambled egg) and highly polished it all over.

So there we have it! A scrambled egg bangle made from Sterling silver, which I've made in the workshop.

Please note: this bangle isn't hallmarked, but I will happily have it marked at an additional price.

This item will be presented in its own box and carefully packaged before sending.
