Materials

Leather cord, picture jasper cabochon, sterling silver tips, Picture rock, fancy jasper stone, scalloped silver wire, 24 gauge plate, black leather bolo cord, tight braided leather, black leather, brown jasper stone, sterling sphere tips, black cord

We make all of our jewelry from cabochons that we cut and polish from rough rock. First cutting the stones in slices called slabs, then cutting the slabs into smaller shapes and putting them on sticks. We then cut to shape by grinding, sanding, and polishing to make free form cabochons. This piece is and example of our work. The triangular cabochon is picture jasper. I first made a bezel by shaping some scalloped wire around the stone to hold it in place to the backing. I then backed the stone with a solid piece of sterling silver to match the shape of the triangular stone. Before the stone was set into the bezel I soldered a spring back to the triangular backing. I ran a leather braided black cord through the spring slide and then attached the bolo tips to the black leather cord on both ends. The tips are sterling silver with small spheres soldered to the end of each one. This bolo feels good to the touch and the silver is highly polished. Worn with a dress suit it will command a sophisticated look. This is a one of a kind wearable piece of art that will become a family heirloom. The tie when stretched out tightly from top to bottom is about 18 inches long. Thanks for your interest in our jewelry
