Description

I love working with copper. It seems to go with everything, especially jeans, and I'm in love with its beauty and shine. These teardrops are hand shaped from 16 gauge genuine copper wire, hand hammered, then tumbled for hardness and shine. The ear wires are from 20 gauge copper wire. The overall measurement is about 2.75" and the diameter is around 1.50”. These are very similar to the Corrine earrings in my collection, but with a heavier gauge copper.

All of my jewelry is handmade by me in my studio in Montana.

Since this is genuine, non coated copper, it will acquire a patina over time. Although some people appreciate the more rustic look of aged copper, others prefer their copper jewelry to remain shiny. The best way to clean and restore copper to its original shine is to submerge the earrings in about 1/2 cup of lemon juice to which has been added about a Tablespoon of coarse sea salt (it's not an exact formula). Let it soak for a minute or two, rinse and dry thoroughly. I save the lemon juice in a glass bowl in the fridge until I need it again. It will keep for a couple of months, or until it is really cloudy.
