Description

These are my Original Custom Silver 1911 Grips I designed and manufactured in my Studio Art Foundry. I have more original designs coming Spring 2019 so check back!!

I do have some videos of these grips (foundry process and finished) on my facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/EffingerArtFoundry/videos/

The Jesus Sacred Heart grips above are based on a similar pendant I designed. Lots of trial and error to get the shrinkage just right. They're solid 925 Sterling Silver weighing in at 13 troy ounces. The extra weight has been great to dampen recoil on my 1911 and they grip good in the hand! :)

Currently I can make these in "regular" and "long" grip styles. There are actually three sizes of grips available for 1911 pistols: "short", "regular" and "long".

"Short" refers to the Officer's model that is actually shorter on it's pistol grip and uses a 6-round clip. I do not make these yet.

"Regular" and "Long" grips use 7-round clips (or more) and both are actually the same length. "Regular" grips have beveled bottoms that angle down towards the bottom of the gun's magwell and account for probably 90% of existing grips. "Long" grips, on the other hand, butt up flush to a protruding flange at the bottom of the gun's magwell (see next-to-last pic above) and are less common. So, the bottom of long grips is square and the bottom of short grips is angled or chiseled.

I can customize the text as an option for an additional cost. I hope to offer these in white bronze and brass soon for more affordable pricing, since half the cost of these is for the anti-tarnish special silver I use.

Thanks for visiting my Etsy shop! I'm a figurative sculptor and jewelry designer, and cast lost-wax bronzes and custom jewelry in my small foundry workshop. I make everything personally by hand. Visit http://effinger.us/ to learn more about my artwork and foundry process.

Thanks for checking them out!

God Bless,
Paul Ray Effinger
