If you are new to using Natural Shampoos, your hair may go through a transition period. This can last anywhere from 3 days to 2 weeks. ( I called it my ponytail days) Your hair may look and feel gross for about a week, then you should start noticing a difference. This will go away; it's your hair releasing the build-up accumulated over the years from your store-bought shampoo and conditioners.

These shampoo bars may not be effective if you have hard water. Hard water can prevent the shampoo from lathering properly and may leave your hair feeling dry. To improve results, it's recommended to use an apple cider vinegar or aloe juice rinse after shampooing. If you have hard water and still wish to try shampoo bars, please remember to follow up with a rinse as suggested, and consider applying a hair oil, such as argan oil, after shampooing.

Always remember to keep shampoo suds out of your eyes and mouth.

If soap comes into contact with your eyes, it will sting until all the soap or shampoo is rinsed away. Rinse your eyes with lukewarm water until the soap is completely removed from the eye area. The eye will have a burning sensation until all soap is rinsed out. This will occur with any natural cold process or hot process shampoo bar, not just the ones I make.

Directions: Wet hair thoroughly. Wet the shampoo bar to create a rich lather on your hands. You can either use the lather from your hands or place the wet shampoo bar directly on your hair, working from the scalp to the ends. Wet your hair again, avoiding rinsing out the shampoo. Massage it into your scalp and hair. (If the shampoo bar contains an exfoliant like Rosemary, do not apply it directly to the scalp. Instead, create a thick lather in your hands and apply it to the scalp.) Ensure all hair is coated with a thick lather. Allow the shampoo to sit for 2-5 minutes before rinsing out completely.

Your hair will feel different than it would with commercial shampoo. This is normal and a very good thing. You can use hair oil before drying if needed.

**Handmade shampoo and soap do not perform very well in hard water. If you have hard water, you should follow with an apple cider vinegar or aloe juice rinse after shampooing.**
