Item details

Vintage from the 1950s

Material

Steel, Wood

An A&J Ekco High Speed Super Center Drive Beater, also known as an egg beater or a hand mixer. It once had paint, I bet, but none remains. It has a few spots of rust on the various mechanisms and there are scratches on the stainless blades but there are no nicks or gouges on the metal. The top handle has a deep scratch on one side and the small handle that you turn has a nick in the outside edge of the wood. This will work well for display or for a movie prop. It measures 11-5/8 inches long. The top wooden handle is 3-1/2 inches wide. The base of the blades is 3 inches wide. The center wheel measures about 3-1/3 inches across. I looked up the patent number and it comes back to Myron J. Zimmer for the gear hub on this and is dated August 4, 1936. If you have any questions please ask.
