Description

Handcrafted using "Makana" wood for the stem and dried "Tagua Seed" (aka vegetable ivory) for the chamber. A lathe is used to achieve the elongated shape of the pipe. Very cool, practical, and uncommon, makes the perfect gift. A stylish way to burn your tobacco products. These pipes are all-natural: sustainable, organic, vegan and biodegradable. Each pipe is unique, like a snowflake, Individual variation and uniqueness are guaranteed.

These pipes are basically a wooden stem attached to a Tagua seed chamber on top. The Tagua Palm only grows in the northern region of the South American rainforest (mainly Colombia and Ecuador). When the fruit from the palm is ripe it falls to the ground releasing the fresh Tagua seeds (AKA Vegetable Ivory). At this point, the seeds are harvested and set out to dry for 6 to 9 months and then they become rock solid resembling ivory in color, texture, and hardness. Now the Tagua seeds are ready to be polished, dyed, cut, drilled and shaped into beautiful beads for our organic jewelry collection and natural wares and accessories like these beautiful wooden and vegetable ivory pipes :)
