This hand built stoneware plate is made with a real hosta leaf from our garden. The edges are curled upwards 1 1/2", to form a raised rim. I glazed it in a pretty Celadon glaze that accents the leaf impressions perfectly. It is 8 1/2" long and 7 1/4" wide at its widest point, making it a nice round shape; the size of a traditional salad plate. It's a great size for serving a sandwich, dessert, or a pile of 6 biscuits.

I use real hosta leaves for my plates. This extra round shape is from our avocado hosta, which we planted just for its plate-sized leaves. There are only a few good ones left now.I can only make these until the first frost and then there will be no more until next year!

My plate is dishwasher, oven, and microwave safe. If you'd like complementary gift wrapping, just say so in 'message to seller' and tell me what the card should read, too. The leaves make great sets with my poppy bowls; here are some to choose from:

PHOTOS: The piece that you receive has the same dimensions, glazes, quality, and shape as these photos. It will be every bit as beautiful, but will have its own unique character because each one is handmade.
