This is a small antique mortar and pestle from (BNF) Bruckmann Metalworks Factory of Heilbronn Germany. They were in operation from 1805 through 1973. The (N)after BNF, I think might be the town mark, however on this i'm not sure.

The Mortar measures 2 ¼” tall. The mouth is 2 ¼” wide. The pestle measures 3” tall.
This is in awesome condition, for its age, only surface scratches and some minor pitting as you can see in pictures.

This piece has taken me a long time to research but I finally found all the markings and can date it at least to the early 1800s.

Angel marks usually indicate European or Scandinavian origin.
Austria, Belgium, Germany, Holland, Hungary, Switzerland,
and the eastern border of France. Denmark, Finland, Norway,
and Sweden.

Palm leaves along the sides used during the second half of
the 17th century and the first quarter of the 18th century.
By 1675 many marks included names instead of initials.

FEIN ZIN or F.Z., used in Austria, Germany, Hungary
and Switzerland. Used on pewter with little or no lead.
