I etched this scrimshaw knife in classic black and white with a maritime scene featuring ships and whale tail as might have been seen on the whaling grounds, be it the Atlantic, Pacific, South Seas or the Arctic Oceans.

This is a Congress style knife with 4 blades: 440 stainless twin sheepsfoot, pen and coping blades made by Rough Rider. The knife handle is bone and the bolsters are nickel silver. It measures 3 5/8" closed.

There is a clear bone back which can be customized with a name, initials or a coordinated scene of your choice: $13.00 for a first name or initials, $16.00 for a full name and $18.00 for a longer sentiment. You may purchase the existing listing if you would like and I will send a PayPal invoice to you for the additional charge.

The scrimshaw is inked with black india ink and sealed with 2 coats of archival wax to protect the intricate design and to enhance the beauty of the bone. It is water resistant, but not waterproof.

You must be over 18 to purchase this. Please state in notes to seller at purchase time.
