The perfect way to make your dress truly your own--a personalized dress label custom made just for you. A wonderful way to fulfill that something blue, or it could be a way to incorporate other colors or themes into your gown as a personal touch. Labels are stitched on high quality satin, and are fully finished front and back.

Please give the following details in the order notes on your order. If any information is missing, the label will be done as the pictures show (whichever is appropriate for your label), and on white satin if color is not specified. You can also just specify to match a label that you like.

1. White or ivory satin?
2. Font choice?
3. Font color(s)?
4. First line of text?
5. Second line of text?
6. Any additional info or specifics for your order?
7. Ship by date?
(Date by which you want your order to ship (4 weeks minimum, 4-6 weeks typical, please see rush labels or email directly for shorter time frame options).)

Light blue is the color of most labels shown, but there are over 800 colors of thread on hand, so it can be done in just about any color. Feel free to specify specific or general colors, and it is also fine to send a swatch to which to match the color.

Simple dress labels include two lines of text. The two lines can be anything--names, nicknames, phrase, monogram, or bible verse, typically with a date as the second line. If you want to add a border, large initial, picture, or a third line, please see other listings or send a convo for the appropriate listing. The exception to the third line is if the name use is very long, or if using two full names--that will be done on three lines, but is still included with this listing.

If doing a monogram, please enter the initials exactly as they will be stitched, or give specific instructions on how you want them done. If no further instructions are specified, they will be done in the order shown, with the middle initial larger.

Labels range from 2-4" tall, and 3-5" wide, but is determined by the text, font, and style chosen.

Monogram Guidelines:

In the 20’s and 30’s, couture gown designers starting designing personalized labels for their clients, and attaching them inside the gowns. Now brides can use this special touch to make wedding gowns truly their own. When the tradition of labels for wedding gowns started, it was seen as the last time a bride would use her maiden name. So the bride’s full maiden name and wedding date was sewn into the gown. More recently, brides began choosing to put their name and the groom’s name on the label with the wedding date. Today, anything goes—from nicknames, monograms, or symbols—whatever the bride feels has the most meaning for her.

These labels are sewn into your wedding gowns lining at the hem, or inside the top of the gown, where a typical clothing label would go. They can be sewn in any color, but are most commonly done in blue for the traditional “Something Blue.” They can even be sewn as a pocket to hold something special, like a good luck charm, or other precious item that you want to have with you on your wedding day. After the wedding, the label becomes a memento for future generations to have the name and date from the day the dress was worn. This is a special touch for a dress that will be handed down. And if you decide not to keep the dress, the label can be removed, and kept as a memento of the gown-perhaps to be placed in your wedding scrapbook, next to a picture of the dress.

Whatever you choose to have stitched on the label, it is a wonderful way to make “The Dress” truly your own.
