two Kakadu placemats hand painted by Reut Shahar. Made in Jerusalem, Israel, these brightly colored motifs are painted with water based pigments, then glazed with acrylic lacquer to make them resistant to scratches, water, and stains. They are made of a beautiful, bright hardwood called Okoume (a type of Mahogany). I find these pretty enough to hang on the wall as well as use as placemats!
