Description

This Dik Dik Brooch (one of the smallest breeds of antelope in the world) is part of my new Lady Lashes Series and this little lady is called Darlene!

Darlene is made from blue swirly pearl perspex which is flat and shiny on the surface but has incredible depth and flecks of shine through it. She is made from two distinct layers, backed in blue backing layer to intensify her colour, and she has a beautiful little glittery earrings and necklace. And guess what?, she also has 3D eye lashes which stick out from the brooch and add wonderful depth and fun. They are secured into the brooch and will wear over time, so avoid rubbing them against layers of your clothing or against other objects. Her little earrings swing and dangle on rings hanging from her ears, and are also hand painted in gold.

These brooches are made in very limited numbers and are likely to never be repeated exactly the same, ever again. This edition is 35 pieces, and each brooch has a hand numbered on the back with an individual sticker.

Each brooch comes packed in a safe cardboard box with foam and velvet interior. They will be shipped boxed and only sent tracked internationally. Each box also has a co-ordinating sticker on the front that represents the brooch inside.

This brooch is approximately 8.5cm high, please see photos for scale. Each one is designed based on my original illustrations & made from laser cut perspex, hand painted and assembled in Sydney, Australia. Each brooch is backed in perspex and is made from three layers of acrylic which is sturdy and will last a lifetime. The lashes are fully adhered into the brooch but are likely to wear over time. Avoid rubbing your brooch against your bag strap, or pulling on the lashes as they may come loose with

Each brooch is hand made and as such there may be small inconsistencies in the paint work, assembly and laser cutting. Please be aware no brooch is likely to be perfect, there may be glue marks, teeny scratches on the perspex or from this item being made by hand.

I do go to great lengths to make everything to a standard I would be happy to receive, but please be aware I am only one person and I may miss things.

Please note I do not refund or offer returns on my items as they are very limited edition and as such I do not offer returns or exchanges. I also don't want things broken in the post upon return, so please choose carefully before you check out.

All brooches are sent safely packed in a mailing box, world wide. I use standard satchel or express post within Australia and tracked airmail everywhere else.

PLEASE NOTE: International customers will only be able to buy these brooches with tracked postage as they are a higher value and I want to be sure they arrive safely to you. Tracked postage is a flat rate of $23 no matter how many brooches you buy!

Additional policies

A bit about the plates I use. I generally only use vintage and second hand plates that are Australian, British, Japanese or European china as they are the best quality and prettiest designs! Occasionally I will use more modern pieces for something different or if the design is really great, but I will always note this in the listing so you know what your buying! I buy all my pieces second hand, mostly from op shops or markets and I always clean them thoroughly before I add my designs. All the designs used are completely original and based on my work and images may not be used, or reproduced without my permission. If you have any queries or questions please email me at kelly@thestorybookrabbit.com
