Orthodox Pectoral Cross With Decorations

This priest cross is neatly carved of wood. Its design contains a number of appealing details that also have symbolic meaning.
The fine and chiselled carving of the cross, along with the four lilies arranged in circular ornament, represents spiritual beauty and purity.
The crown above the cross serves as a reminder both of how the priests had traditionally been decorated with a crowned cross on behalf of the Zhar, and of the Lord of Heaven and Earth as well as of the elevated duty of every clergyman.
The pendant attached to the bottom of the cross represents a black sheep that a pastor must lead to God.

The cross is attached to a long chain of 48 beads assembled by hand.
Chain length - 47in (120 cm)
