Description

Huger "Sputnik' Desktop Weather Station

Manufacturer/Origin: Huger - West Germany
Year: 1950's
Dimensions: 8 inches tall X 6 inches wide
Material: Brass finish on Lucite/Acrylic
Condition/Info: Very Good. the acrylic has some light marking, as does the brass, consistent with age and materials. This incredible "Sputnik" style desktop weather station was made by Huger of West Germany in the 1950's. Acrylic was just starting to get used in consumer products at this time, and it lends a "space age" look during a time when crude plastics were still being used. This is a visually complicated piece that has a Temperature Gauge in both Fahrenheit and Celcius readings, a Relative Hygrometer and a Barometer in both Inch and Millibar gauge. All gauges were manufactured in West Germany. Up your rocket scientist game by adding this stunning piece to compliment your desk.
