Five-volume set entitled "A History of the World" by Clement Wood and Victor Duruy. Volumes 1 and 2 cover the United States, Volume 3 Ancient History, Volume 4 Modern History, and Volume 5 Modern History (revised and extended through 1937). Published by the World Syndicate Publishing Company.

These books would look very handsome on your bookshelves. They are bound in dark blue with gilt lettering and trim on the spines; the lettering is on a bold red background.

Each book has a section of black-and-white plates in the center, some photographs and some illustrations.

All five books are in great condition. All have tight bindings and the covers, endpapers, and pages are all in great condition. However, the covers are slightly faded, and worn around the edges, especially at the top and bottom of the spines. The pages are lightly yellowed with age. Each book has a signature in ink on the front endpaper, which is also discolored with age. And volume 5 has one page with a corner ripped off; though only a few words of the text are missing.

I ship all items within 48 hours of purchase, often sooner.

Books are carefully packaged with bubble wrap and [recycled] cardboard, and shipped via Media Mail.
