Eddie Peabody may be the greatest banjo player who ever picked a string. Well - that's only opinion, but there is a reason he was called the "King of the Banjo" Few could match his pyrotechnic agility on the instrument.

This is a great record with wonderful, energetic performances. No hick personality here - Eddie Peabody was ahead of the pack! If you haven't heard Eddie Peabody, you haven't heard banjo!

By the way - Eddie Peabody was a commissioned officer - a commander - in the United States Navy (he served in both WWI and WWII) - Commander Peabody acted as morale officer for the Navy in World War II, entertaining the troops with his music. It was during his service aboard a submarine in World War I that he earned another nickname: "Happiness Boy". he may be considered the most popular banjoist of his generation.

And check out the great olive-yellow toned photo of Eddie on the cover! One looks at that and knows "Hey we are not in 2010!" A great find!

We test-play all records to determine condition.

This is a used/previously played record with the following noted:

DISC - Bright and clean - plays brightly with a minimum of extraneous noise - - hardly seems to have been play - very pleasurable

COVER - The sleeve taken the brunt of wear through the years - there is a bit of splitting to the bottom of the spine and to the top edge at the mouth - overall moderate surface rub and a bit of creasing - there are soft bumps to corners and discernible record ring on back of the sleeve - two catalog label ghosts display (front and back) and one old price label ghost (front) A small neat record of original purchase, etc. is neatly written in ink in the bottom left corner on the rear of the sleeve

LINER - Clean original Dot paper liner

It is obvious that the sleeve has been shuffled around through the years, but the disc itself has hardly been handled.
