This alphabet sampler design was inspired by marking samplers made by female students at Quaker schools in the early part of the nineteenth century. Many such samplers survive, showing students' proficiency at stitching multiple alphabets. My take on this has been to rearrange the letters that were used into a different format. The border and other small motifs in this pattern have also come from these Quaker samplers.

This design can be stitched in its entirety or just one letter for a small and quick finish. The second picture shows an example of this.

Pattern is black and white and uses full cross stitches only.

Stitch count is 219 x 314 for the entire design or 54 x 54 for one block.
