Made from recycled guitar strings. Three strings make this barrette. The middle one is a flat wound string, a kind I believe is used for jazz guitar. The other two are regular gold colored wound strings. Great gift for a musical friend!

The tension between the barrette and hair stick will hold it securely without pulling your hair. Flex the barrette by pinching the ends together to make space for thick hair.

This design comes from a book called “The Arts of the Sailor; Knotting, Splicing and Ropework” It is used to make a ladder-step mat for better traction on a boat and it is normally made out of old rope.

Dimensions: Stick 3.75”, Barrette 1.25” X 2.75”, weight 1oz

Keep it dry! If they get wet the strings may eventually rust.
