FAQs

Some of the items you see on my shop are already cooked and ready to go :) The items that aren't, vary a lot on how many times they need flattening and or bending, and if you would like food safe personalisation that means another go through the kiln which is on average 36 hours. If you can't see the information you want please ask, I have a garden full of bottles and glass waiting for a new loving home :)
Then your piece of art will be packed in cellophane and raffia, plus an enormous amount of polystyrene and cardboard ( recycled as much as possible) and sent to you via a signed for 3-5 day courier, unless you request something else.
Just ask :) These orders will take a while longer to get ready for delivery, but I can normally estimate the time needed quite well. Sharing someones life event is a special part of this kind of work and one I greatly look forward too :)
My glass work is pretty tough, it's annealed to virtually Pyrex standard. The cats test pieces regularly when they sneak in the workshop :) Treat your items as you would your glass cookware, you may get away with dropping them occasionally but if they land the wrong way..... :)
You can use your glass (unless stated) in the oven to warm your food, for candles, incense sticks, serving dishes use them as spoon rests etc
BUT NEVER ON THE HOB ! most especially if they have large hangers/metal inclusions in, the metal expands much quicker than the glass, and will break the glass quite violently sometimes.
Unless otherwise requested your glass will be wrapped in clear cellophane and tied with raffia or eco string :)
No :) The temperature of the kiln, the weather, each individual piece of glass, each factor changes the final result slightly. 2 bottles that look the same, 1 will turn into a beautifully sculptural piece another will be an oversized table tennis bat. So there's a bit of guesswork involved unless I can test a small portion of the glass first.
If you're at all concerned please ask, I'm more than happy to share :)
